Offical rule-type things:
FictionAlley, with help from TheRogue.net, are thrilled to announce the first of twelve fanfic/fanart/vid challenges for 2007.

You can click here to get your prompt - a spoof of the title of Book Seven - Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows. It will include the name of a character and an anagram of "Deathly Hallows". Some possibilities are

1. LunaLovegood and the Weal Hath Dolly
2. Ron Weasley and the Daily Howla
3. Lee Jordan and the Alley Hath Wold

No, they don't all make sense, but that's part of the fun!

Write a story of 100 - 1500 words, make a vid, or create fanart, based on your prompt, and post it here in FictionAlley Park. You can, of course, also submit it to FictionAlley's fic archive, or post the art or vid on ArtisticAlley, and then link there from the Park forum.

Between February 1 and February 10, FictionAlley users will choose which two entries will be read on an upcoming episode of SpellCast, FictionAlley's podcast for and about the Harry Potter fandom.

FictionAlley will be hosting one official challenge per month in the 2007 Challenges Forum.

Every individual who enters at least eight challenges during 2007 will receive a FictionAlley Gift Pack, including a t-shirt, a magnet and a FictionAlley.org email account. Every individual who enters at all twelve challenges during 2007 will receive a Super FictionAlley Gift Pack, including a t-shirt, a magnet, a 2008 calendar and a FictionAlley.org email account.

More info is available here, and let us know if you have any questions!

Heidi being Heidi: One of the reasons I wanted us to do this challenge is because I was so amused that an anagram of Deathly Hallows was lay hot Welsh lad, because I think there needs to be more HP/Torchwood crossovers (yes, I know some of you are rolling your eyes). But when I clicked to get a prompt, I got Stubby Boardman and a-ha Dwell Hotly, which I think desperately needs to be written in filk or songfic form.

So please, grab a prompt and create some magic!

I still think "Royal Midnight" is the best HP anagram EVAR.

There should just be more anything/Torchwood crossoovers really.

Actually I just logged into FAP thinking ti sounded like an interesting challenge only to discover I haven't done so since December 2005 *boggles*

Huh. Perhaps I should try getting back into the fandom a bit before Phoenix Rising...

(and yes Stubby Boardman and A-Ha should be written by a filker!)

We'll see how creative I can be, I didn't see a due date on the site, but I'm guessing Jan 31st?

December 31, actually, for contention for the eight- or twelve-entry prizes, and Feb 1 for inclusion in the SpellCast project.
