Oh i think the same type as opposed to the same one. But still i loved the shadow of death thing. I do not think he was dead for longer than a week as i think by then they really would have dragged Gwen away.
I had been thinking it was the same creature but now I'm less sure. I went back and watched Satan Pit's final scenes and obviously, his shadow didn't impact the Doctor.
So, either the Doctor is immune because of the sphere of tardis protection (even though he didn't know it was there) or it's not the same entity, or there were no shadows in The Pit.
