Anyone participate in SecondLife?

I'm interested in learning more about it from someone who's "been" there. There's a few interesting classes that I've heard of but I'm not really sure how everything works...

I do! I've been in world a couple times, though I haven't tried to go shopping or build anything, but the neatest thing I've done was to attend the launch party for a new podcast novel. The event was almost like a con - the guests of honor arrived in a flying car, and then there were tours available of sets from the first book of the series. And there was an energy - like the kind you get in group chats - only 10 times better.

I've heard it described as the Sims meet WOW on acid.
