tabithajones and I just got back from Meg Cabot's reading in
Coral Gables - she was terrific and it's obvious why the nine yearolds
all want to be her. And the nineteen year olds.

She was a bit snarky, squeeful over google, coconspiratorial about her
Star Wars fanfic writing days when she was a tween and her princess of
choice was Leia, and made a point of talking about the beeyotch she'd
gone to school with, who wasn't actually "just mean" - she was stupid.
But she told it a lot better than I did.

And I now have a signed book to add to FA's holiday contest which will
be announced in the next few weeks. Squee!

I read almost the entire Princess Diaries series over the summer (I think I've missed the last one?), and they were such fluffy fun!

That's so cool! I've heard lots of times that she's great in person, but she's never come to the Boston area. When I spent a week in Key West last March, I kept a close eye out for her so I could run up to her on the sidewalk or in the grocery store or something and ask for her autograph but, alas, I never saw her.
