That last post wasn't supposed to be public - it was meant for Cedar only. I'll explain my frustration with the situation more later, when I'm not driving, but it's not frustration, per se, with those thinking they want to organize an event.

It's frustration with a fandom so bifurcated and subdivided and occasionally insular that people have no idea what's going on, metaphorically, right next door.

More when I'm not driving.

When you say "driving", I sincerely hope you mean that you were either a passenger in a car or that you were parked with the engine turned off, especially if your children were in the car. NO ONE can drive safely, including while waiting at red lights, while playing with their techno toys.

Any chance of getting LeakyMug, etc.. off their collective bums :-) and posting more about these events? Or even having a button on their page that leads to a calendar of events? How hard is that?

I'm not on Leaky staff anymore. Haven't been for over six months.
I did once suggest creating a calendar on TLC for things like this, or a countdown, but it never happened. It will be part of FA when we redo the front page, but as I said in the prior post's comments, there's a limit to the viewers on any specific page that's not linked to from one of the news sites (even if their page-hits-per-day are lower than, say, certain LJ communities or fanfic sites).
