We've been working on it for months...

And now, it is working!

You can now search for combinations of ships, or of main characters separate from ships!

In other words, if I want to find all fics that feature Sirius Black and Harry Potter as main characters, and which are, say, Action/Adventure fics, I...

Go to the Main Search Page
Select "Action" for genre
At "Show me fics where the main character is", select "Harry Potter"
Click "Add another character"
When "Show me fics where the main character is" comes up on the screen, select "Sirius Black"
(Add other options, like house, length, upload date, etc, if I want to)
Scroll down and click "Submit query"

And look! A list of all the fics that meet my criteria!

(Of course, you can't do combined "or" searches anymore - you now need to do a separate search if you wanted to find all fics with Harry, or all fics with Sirius, but I think we can all live with that, can't we?)

Is it possible to do combined searches where you want one thing but don't want another? Let's say I want to read Harry/Draco or Harry/Ginny, but without Ron/Hermione, because Ron/Hermione gives me hives. (This is actually a fairly common problem for me.)

Sort of. In other words, you can find all fics with, say, Harry and Draco as main characters that don't include R/Hr. Just click the box at "[Check box to exclude or bar fics which list the selected romantic pairing (aka "ship")]" and you're all set, and you get this list.

Er, there's 3000 of them. But you can narrow it down by upload date or length or genre if you want to.

Yes! You can! You just have to manually de-toggle the box next to "exclude" as it is automatically toggled when you add the second ship.
