I haven't actually seen the Family Tree as I've been on handheld all day (and it crashed and ate the afternoon's email and I've had no chance to get on the desktop) but am I right that it has Tonks born in 1975?

Assuming her birthday was before September 1, she would've started Hogwarts in 1986?

And they're in school for seven years, so she would've finished in...

1993?

Well, that causes a bit of a muddle. Is it really '75?

Because I really don't want it to be. I don't want her to have been at Hogwarts while Harry was still there. Really.

(I've sorta presumed that she finished Hogwarts in June of 1991, btw...)

I just think that over the years Jo has not shown herself trustworthy when it comes to the maths. What was that fuss a while back in regards to Charlie Weasley's age?

I tend to lean towards common sense than by Jo's dates. There's no way Tonks was at Hogwarts with Harry, it just doesn't make sense. Besides, in OotP, doesn't McGonagall make a statement to Harry ("Career Advice") about how long it's been since they've accepted a student into Auror training? No one since Tonks?

I've loaned out my book, so I can't check but maybe someone can produce the original quote...
