Year End Memes
Dec. 7th, 2005 02:03 pmGacked variously...
1) Was 2005 a good year for you?
It was a year of good friends, good movies, good events and a very good daughter.
2) What was your favorite moment of the year?
The last ten seconds or so of labor, and the first minutes, hours, days, weeks and months of having Catie in my life. Excepting the week-long headache that started about four hours after her birth.
3) What was your least favorite moment of the year?
Said headache. It really *hurt*.
4) Where were you when 2005 began?
I have no recollection of where I was at all. Possibly home, but I really can't remember. Isn't that weird?
5) Who were you with?
Family. I know that much.
6) Where will you be when 2005 ends?
Possibly Universal. Not sure yet.
7) Who will you be with when 2005 ends?
Family. But a larger one than last year.
8) Did you keep your new years resolution of 2005?
It was a simple reso - to lose any baby weight I put on. Done that. Still have about 30 pounds of Harry-weight from 1999 to lose.
9) Do you have a new years resolution for 2006?
Lose said 30 pounds. And read some books.
10) Did you fall in love in 2005?
Yes!
11) If yes, with who?
Catie! And I stayed in love with my three boys!
12) If yes, do they know?
Oh yes. And she says "Mama" when she looks at me.
14) Did you have fun in 2005?
Primarily. Other than the headache, and some airplane-related paranoia. And the hurricane made for a few scary hours.
15) Did you breakup with anyone in 2005?
No.
16) Did you make any new friends in 2005?
Yes! Plus, I got to meet many of you in Salem!
17) Who are your favorite new friends?
Everyone new on this list!
18) What was your favorite month of 2005?
April was wonderful, May was great, June was plesant, July family-filled, and all the others had some terrific high points as well. October can't be my favorite month, though, as the wonder of TWH was balanced by the UGH-ness of Wilma.
19) Did you travel outside of the US in 2005?
No,. but I think I flew over international waters for a few minutes at one point.
20) How many different states did you travel to in 2005?
Two - a record low for me. California and Massacheusetts
21) Did you lose anyone close to you in 2005?
Not particularly close, but close to family members, yes.
22) Did you miss anybody in the past year?
Yes. A few certain people who didn't make it to TWH, a few people I didn't get to see while I was in LA, and basically all of my RL friends.
23) What was your favorite movie that you saw in 2005?
Batman Begins. Sorry, GoF, you were good, but not that good.
24) What was your favorite song from 2005?
Did I listen to any new music this year at all?
25) What was your favorite record from 2005?
Erm.
26) How many concerts did you see in 2005?:
We went to a kids' concert at the New World Symphony...
27) Did you have a favorite concert in 2005?
Erm.
28) Did you drink a lot of alcohol in 2005?
More than I did in the 2nd half of 2004! Plus, there was TWH!
29) Did you do a lot of drugs in 2005?
There was this epidural, and this headache that they gave me codine to treat but gah, I hated the codine.
30) How many people did you sleep with in 2005?
One.
31) Did you lose anything important this year?
My cellphone, plus one Sidekick broke, and my camera was stolen. Not a good record.
33) What was the worst lie someone told you in 2005?
The power will be back on tomorrow.
34) Did you treat somebody badly in 2005?
Honestly, I tried not to.
35) Did somebody treat you badly in 2005?
Yes, but that's all I'm going to say about that.
36) How much money did you spend in 2005?
Incalculatable ammounts. And if you include money others spent on me, when I saw what the insurance was paying for relating to my labor & delivery for Catie, I nearly fainted. I hadn't had an epidural before, so we'd never had that show up on a bill, and it was an insane price for about twenty minutes of care.
37) What was your proudest moment of 2005?
Every minute that I'm watching my kids together, and they're not actively wrestling.
38) What was your most embarrassing moment of 2005?
Ripping a pair of slacks on the fence at a pool party. In a bad place. In front of Serena Williams. OOPS!
39) If you could go back in time to any moment of 2005 and change something, what would it be?
No codine. Would not have taken the codine. Or had the eleven diet cokes in four hours just because a nurse said it would help my headache.
40) What are your plans for 2006?
Love my kids, love my friends, love my job, love my volunteer projects. Go up north for 10 days or so.
January: In the year 2005 I resolve to:
Figuring out why I really need 7 e-mail addresses.
February: Things I obtained today:
1. A Starbucks Chantico, which is the richest chocolate drink I have ever tried, and which is more or less like drinking somewhat liquid fondue.
March:
ellen_fremedon has asked a very creative-thought provoking question here:
While JKR is revising HPB, you have the power to influence her mind, just long enough to nudge her into writing one line of dialog for one character.
April: It's getting hard to breathe.
May: Those few of you with three kids, and the slightly larger number with two who are under 30 months apart - what was your bedtime routine when the youngest was a newborn?
June: So far behind on LJ.
July: Overnight, someone emailed me asking for copies of the VHS tapes I have of the Tomorrow People series - I have every episode from Season Four onward, thanks to someone on the Tomorrow People majordomo-based mailing list circa 1993 or 1994, when I was first getting online and the series had only gone off the air in the US 10 years prior.
August: Cable company has moved all the channels around, so IFC is now vaguely more accessable and amid other movie channels, so I just saw Velvet Goldmine for the first time.
September: I've tried a haiku, a sonnet and a limerick in honour of aome and lissannej, who have retired from FA's staff, effective this week, as a way to sing their praises for the incredible jobs both have done in helping FA grow, thrive and serve the fandom, but in the face of their contribution to the site, and to this fandom, I'm just at a loss for words.
October: Am sick but recuperating.
November: This is the most crack theory I've ever come up with - yes, more than Manchurian Candidate!Ron, or Thestral-to-the-Hut!Hagrid.
December: Oh, the loveliness that is FictionAlley's brand new, sparkly, shiny, delicious search engine!
