I seem to have missed [livejournal.com profile] mctabby's Friending Frenzy, although I hope to go through and add people from it, especially anyone who's mentioned Crowded House, Draco/Hermione, Regulus, Katherine Neville's The Eight or the films Xanadu and Girls Just Wanna Have Fun... I seem to have bad luck with the timing of these things...

*blinks* Girls Just Wanna Have Fun was the defining movie of my childhood. But I still can't dance.

Here is where I confess to having been a total Olivia Newton John fangirl way back in the way back. I have a whole stack of LPs of hers in my basement. You know that when Xanadu came out, I saw the movie on opening weekend and have tried to catch it whenever it reruns on TV. (It'd feel like cheating to buy a copiy, I figure.)

I am now trying to figure out what I would sell for an MP3 of the extended Xanadul song from the film, including all the country & western bits.

The Eight is the best book ever.

And one day I shall name my daughter Mireille. Unfortunately, the Americans seem to have a difficult time pronouncing it.

Haha, yay!

And I hope your situation returns to being somewhat normal very, very soon.

Katherine Neville's The Eight is such a brilliant book. I've had a weakness for Russian chess players ever since I read it. Who could resist Solarin? *g*

Also, hello! *waves*

How did I not know that you are a Xanadu fan? I have much of the music on iTunes. I'll check and see what I've got. I went on to Amazon to find the title of the song 'Dancin' and was reminded how great the whole soundtrack is.
