Please tell me you mean they couldn't evacuate. Because choosing to stay in this when you are able to leave? Well, I guess iif it only puts themselves in danger. The people who have kids who choose to stay are fuckers. Seriously.

Some people also stayed because of pets, it seems. I don't get it. I obviously am contented to stay in my house for a category-1 - my house is old enough and solid enough to withstand that sort of thing - but 2 and up and I am out of here.

I know it sounds morbid but if there's a mandatory, as versus voluntary, evac order, insurers shouldn't have to pay death benefits to the families of those who stay.
