Sam and Nny's discussion while she beta read the new chapter of Laocoon's Children made me wonder about something.

Did Lee Jordan bring the tarantula back to Hggwarts in his 4th year and if so, did it flee the basilisk?

*frowns* I don't think he did - otherwise JKR would have slipped in that it had escaped or gone missing or something. I can imagine that he'd not keep it for very long, and that it would have t00bed off at some point anyway...

I think it's one of those things you "probably shouldn't ask about".

Just like this one - in the end of CoS Dumbledore announces that all exams are cancelled. What about those students who were to sit their OWLs or NEWTS. What happens to them? Is their yearly average used instead, or will the rest of the wizarding world just accept that they never took them? Inquiring minds want to know :)
