At the end of HBP, why does Harry not grab a broomstick at the top of the Astronomy Tower and use it to catch snape and Draco?
Is this a post I need to edit to include my *ew, maths!* icon? Or is it just plot and her need to show what was happening in the school taking precedence?
Why would Dumbledore choose to ever kill himself? There is a theory lurking around that Dumbledore was already dying, a slow painful death, from the curse on the ring. The idea is, that while Snape is brilliant at potions, he wasn't able to stop the spread of whatever was eating at Dumbledore, only slow it down.
That means, Dumbledore already knew he was a goner, and nothing he did would save it, so it didn't matter whether he ingested the poison or not. He was only hastening the inevitable.
