Does that mean we close The Bad Place now that Dan's 16?

Also, happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] tea_and_toast! And I have a new default icon from [livejournal.com profile] potterpuffs. Back when *I* was 16 I really wanted Pansy's Louise Brooks-style haircut, but my hair just isn't that straight or that fine, or that dark, so I have learned to live with my Hermione-frizz. I am considering having it straightened, though, as I've been told that means I won't have to blow it dry, at least for a few months. Have any of you tried the new salon-straightening methods, and how are the results in humid locations?

Back to fandom stuff for a second - I am in love with this drawing of the Marauders in dress robes by [livejournal.com profile] caladan_dd. Her other art is fabulous, too - she does the only Remus with a beard that I adore (no, not that kind of beard, although her Remus/Tonks art is gorgeous too (and no, I don't think she's his beard, I'm just glad they weren't snogging in OotP because it allows me to believe that things like Boys Own Camping Adventure still fit with the books yay)).

Nah. I think, regardless, it will always be The Bad Place in our hearts *wipes tear*

No - leave it open. There is always the 'toy boy' element to deal with.

Well, at least there is for me who is probably old enouigh to be his grandmother.

I say leave it open, but re-name it. Instead of The Bad Place, it can be The Not Quite So Bad Place, because at least he's of age in his country of origin now. ;)

And I'm glad you and the others I know are sane about this are are just joking around. I met some Very Scary Women around my age who were like, scary excited at the prospect that Dan was "legal" now. *shudder* It was SO VERY WRONG OMG!

Well, it also gave teens like Flourish a place to squee over Alan Rickman, though. Although with Remus/Tonks, huge age differences are now canon.

Thank goodness, because I was starting to feel alone in my Filch-lust.

...what? *looks around* Where are you all going?

Well, seeing as I never knew what The Bad Place was, I guess you can... do what you think is best? *lol*

He's still not legal here, so it's still the Bad Place. In the UK it is the Not So Bad Place, as someone pointed out.

Also, Emma's not sixteen yet, is she? There's some radio station that actually has a countdown to when she turns eighteen. O_o

(And I remember hearing someone during the PoA bonanza in LA going on about Dan in that Scary Dirty Old Woman way that you hoped wasn't serious but sadly, probably was, so I would like to take this moment to say that my lust for Dan is as fictional as Harry and Draco's great and t00by love. Thanks.)

So I'm browsing through pics a year ago, and I pass by a pic of someone with a smokin' hot torso playing guitar. "yummy!" I think, and go back for a second peep.

Oh, it is NOT him...it is...I have SUCH guilt!

There were the guitar photos from I think NME last year. This wasn't that?

Thank you, babe! Whee!

And I absolutely did not spend any time looking at pictures of Dan this morning and thinking, "Damn, he's pretty!" The Bad Place is dead! Long live The Bad Place!

I've had my hair straight-permed; it lasts for ~9 months and costs around $300. It works pretty well in humid locations. You just have to maintain it - keep on ironing it every day, and then spray it with this anti-frizz something or other that prevents your hair from absorbing external moisture. Mine is called aquage, or something, though I never use it. Having straight hair does make your life a lot easier, though. You just have to add maintenance of hair onto your daily schedule - 10 extra minutes or so.
