Better and more readable than OotP but fuck, do I miss Sirius.

About 4 years ago, Cassie pointed out some intriguing parallels between Draco and Sirius, but Lupin's comment about Reg (and yes, I find lupin/regulus fics intriguing, too) I'm wondering if there isn't something going on there, too.

Since I'm a bit behind on my flist, has the fandom seen a solid dozen Snape/Pettigrew Master/slave fics yet?

I'm a little surprised Harry didn't make any measure to rectify McClaggan's being confunded in trials; I mean, hasn't anyone learned to have reservists yet? Weasley? Not so much king as pretender in that. Ron is so different from how he was in GoF, and it makes me wonder why.

The Gaunt family history was interesting - a little more downtrodden and mad than many presupposed, but Ickle Tom so reminds me of Viola's, it's appropriately familiar

And speaking of damaging childhoods, Dumbledore is still a git for waiting so long to give the Dursleys what-for, but you'd think Vernon would drink the booze, eh? And did Ogden leave the ministry to make firewhiskey or did JKR forget she'd used the name already?

You notice I haven't said anything about that ickle wobie snoo of a screwed-up, damaged bunny-suited Draco? Well, I know how the book leaves him, so, for now, I won't.

Also, JKR naming a chaser Demelza? *So* cute! : pets the snoos at danradcliffe.com, whee. Lovely shout-out, Jo!

I just sent a few friends to look at demelzahouse.org to discuss if this was just too much of a coincidence! Glad I'm not the only one who thinks she did that on purpose. I am so far behind and so not ready to analyze anything yet but I'm having fun reading all the LJ posts so I know what to look for.

I really hope that serving Snape drinks isn't the *only* thing Peter's been doing for two years. Does he have a role in Voldie's ranks at *all* now?

Snape really surprised me. And Dumbledore is gone with so much he didn't tell Harry!

his portrait in the headmaster's office should be able to talk to harry, at least.
But do those just keep personality or memories? I don't recall.

I knew at once that it was a shout-out to Dan, she loves him, so do all of us. Totally, totally stoked by that. Hope lots of people find Demelza House this way!

fuck, do I miss Sirius.

Me too.

Ron is different from how he was in GOF because clearly a lot of the characterisation is plot driven. People found excuses why Sirius was so different in GOF and OotP, but really in GOF he was there to provide info and moral support. In OotP he was there to fall apart and die needlessly, so he obviously couldn't be as together as he had been.

But at least it was better written.

Demelza House is Dan Radcliffe's favorite charity. Every year on his birthday he asks for donations to Demelza House instead of gifts from fans. I donate about three times a year, it's a great place - a children's hospice, really lovely.

I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking that the Quidditch team needs reserves. It was driving me nuts that the thought never seemed to occur to Harry.

Dumbledore is still a git for waiting so long to give the Weasleys what-for
Surely you mean Dursleys, not Weasleys?

I figured the reason why McClaggen didn't get the reservist position was that Harry figured he'd beat the crap out of Ron to get into a game. Which I could see happening.

Hey, theory of mine: What if Snape turned to the Light Side (yes, I think he's still on that side but still can't stand Harry, remember the Unbreakable Vow, and Albus would never plead for his life) because of Regulus? Because Regulus is RAB, right? What if he was inspired by Regulus or entrusted with something by him?
