Do we need spoilers for the Michael Jackson verdict?

Well, my reaction is "OMGWTFBBQ!?!?!?!" Honestly, I can't believe that they didn't at least get him on the lower-alcohol-provision charge! WTF is up with that?

I know, that surprised me too. At least find him guilty of the lesser charge! I guess they felt it was all or nothing. Hmph.

There was a lesser-included offense of providing alcohol - no reason needed - and those were acquittals too.

There was a lesser charge than that. One that would be like a bartender serving a drink to an underage person. Or at least that's what they said on CNN.

I know! I figured the very least he'd be walking out of there with would be four misdemeanor convictions, which, whatever, it's a fine. But still.

It was the prosecution. They were on crack. It was personal for them, not just a job. As I said, based on the case presented, I'm fairly certain that I couldn't have found him guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, simply because the prosecution botched the job.

Do I think he's a freak who likes little boys just a little too much? Yeah. But this case in particular was poorly executed.

Yeah, I thought they were going to get him on something, if not everything.

The inmates are running the asylum, Heidi.

They were probably afraid MJ would kill himself if he was convicted. Nothing surprises me anymore, except why *I* have never been called for jury duty. Wait, that doesn't surprise me either.

And now we know for sure: famous people don't get "fair" trials.

And now the Jurors are talking about how wrong it is to let your young child sleep in the bed of a grown man like that...AND YET.

Well, that's what happens when the person allowing that to happen is on the prosecution's side.

Not surprised. Just another californication of justice.

Now the slimy git will continue to believe he is above behaving as a decent human being. Time to lock up the children.

I did too Heidi, I just KNEW he was going to jail a la Martha Stewart for a while. I can't wait to watch Nancy Grace tonight to see her reaction to all this.

Maybe I'm naive about this case, but I think there was plenty of reasonable doubt. I'm not unhappy with this verdict.

I agree. I can honestly say my first reaction was "Whew, another rich perdon did not get fried by some one with a possible story". Sorry, I am an optimist. He may be pretty freaky but he deserves to be left alone.

Hon, I'm in your camp, and I don't think you're naive at all.

Mike's been odd... and even with this verdict, I think his mental state is precarious at best. I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't the end of this tragedy.

I'm not surprised by the acquittal on the conspiracy or even the molestation charges - they're always hard to prove to juries when there is no physical evidence - but the providing-alcohol? A conviction on that would probably have meant probation & nothing more which I think would've been good for him as a treatment-instigation.

I wasn't surprised by the verdict. I was relieved for him really. I didn't want him to be convicted for something he may have or may have not done years ago. That wasn't the case.

Earlier flippant comments aside, I also was surprised that MJ was not convicted of providing alcohol to a minor.

Another more insidious form of child abuse has the GLBT lj community in an uproar. Much against his will, a 16-yr-old teen who came out to his parents has been sent to "straight camp."
