If you download the .ogg plugin for Quicktime, you'll be able to play the ogg files on iTunes. Not so sure about the iPod (as I don't have one, I haven't had the reason to check it out!). Just google "playing .ogg files in iTunes" and you'll get a whole bunch of sites with the Quicktime plugin.
I think you'd need a hack to get the iPod to handle it. However, any decent sound editor such as Amadeus will convert between formats and export your .ogg as an .mp3.
