We're having a power failure so I can't get online to do actual fandom work - instead, via sidekick, this week's fannish5:
What five crossovers would you like to see?

1. I have a soft spot for HP/BTVS set in mwpp times where Giles is in Slytherin or Ravenclaw. The dates work, the concepts do, too, and were it filmed, I would have the power to incorporate singing. Whee.

2. HP/The Outsiders. No, it's not something that immediately comes to mind, but a teacher who does HP in her classes told me about how her class is doing a compare-contrast with Harry and Ponyboy - and it hit me.
Ponyboy is Lupin.
Wah.

3. Oceans 11-12/The Eight. This probably only makes sense to laughingirl and myself, but it would work. Danny hears about a valuable chess set that's been buried for 30 years and which will prevent him from aging and thus looking older and older... ;)

4. Heathers+Clueless. And why not?

Er. I don't have a five. What's yours? Inspire me to fill in the blank!

I have a bunny bouncing around my head for HP/ASOUE. We find out what Hermione was up to when she was on holiday with her parents before Harry meets her and Ron in Diagon Alley near the beginning of PoA. Turns out she ran into the Baudelaire orphans while on holiday... Hermione/Klaus works well. :D

HP/Outsiders? That's so interesting. I used to have the first three pages of that book memorized. So Lily would be Cherry Valance? Makes sense, she was a red head too. And Ponyboy really liked her. And Sirius is like Dallas. Ron is definitely Soda Pop! Oh, I could go on for hours on this topic.

Back to the question.

I've always been interested in crossovers between HP and British shows, like Coupling, The Office, or maybe Absolutely Fabulous. Those would be hilarious. The eccentric characters all three shows would fit wonderfully in the Wizarding world, plus there's the whole being in London thing.

Edit - Now that I'm thinking about it, it'd be pretty neat to see Remus and Sirius help the Wolf's Rain characters get to Paradise. Um...but that may be cuz my brains are scrambled by manga and fic. :)

Oh I would love Hp/Outsiders....wow that's inspiring. Hp/the phantom of the opera is awesome too....wow I might actually try that. I just saw the movie, but people tell me that it's nothing compared to Broadway. Draco can be the hot phatom....his hotness is to hot for the world...sorry.

The Ponyboy/Lupin comparison makes me wanna cry.

I'm not really into crossovers, but, if I had to pick, I'd say anything with Dead Like Me. The concept works really well.

For my big sister (who is a HUGE crossover fan), I submit the following for your consideration:

Smallville/Buffy. She seems fond of Clark going out with Dawn for some reason.

Buffy/X-Men. Scott Summers and Buffy Summers? It's pretty obvious.

X-Files/HP. Scully and her red hair make her a perfect Weasley cousin.

Modern Buffy/HP. Willow would make a great Hogwarts professor, wouldn't she?

Um, HP/Charmed. Heck, they've already done it with Phoebe and Paiged wanting to name Wyatt Potter and now they have a Magic School. They've mentioned Harry Potter twice on the show IIRC. WB does the films and the show. Why not have 24-year-old Harry, or anyone really, pop over for a 'cameo'? LOL

Alias/24 - just because they friggin rock! All those terrorist messing up Jack's days just want Rombaldi artifacts.

HP/ASOUE - could work.

HP/Yu-gi-oh - couldn't resist. There's dueling all over the place, and magical objects and creepy people. And ANIME POTTER!!!!!

HP/Matrix - you thought about it. You know you did watching POA and seeing that Quidditch scene. And going into the shack was like being out of the Matrix and learning the truth. LOL But when he's at the Dursleys, is Harry in or out of the Matrix?? Whoa! "Turn out your pockets, Mr. Potter."
