Check the box for "Enable Entry Icons" and make sure the text/dropdown under it says "Yes." If not, Save at the bottom, go back into "Edit Customizations" and you should be able to change it to yes.
I added that latkes post to my memories by going to your main journal page (where all your entries are listed). The heart icon shows up with the post there.
