A Harry Potter Post! OMG!

So about two and a half years ago, I was on the cell with epicyclical when I went to the nearest Target to get SS on video and we watched the deleted scenes together, once we found them, that is. And a year later, we again were on the phone while we watched That Scene With Lucius And Draco In Borgin & Burkes OMG The Evil!

So yesterday, when I popped into Blockbuster - you know, the one where they cut Rupert out of the standee they put in the window so it's now all H/Hr [snark] - I again was on the phone with Miss Cassie. But I wasn't as completely OMGOMGOMG about seeing it this time, probably because back in September, when we were fleeing the hurricane, it was on in our hotel, so we saw it about ten time that weekend. However, nothing can compare to the Shack scene on slo-mo, or watching it, um, seven or eight times in a row. My, Hermione's facial reaction to their snogging is quite in character!

In terms of the extras, I can't believe Dan is still talking about Towel Girl. I wonder if she has an LJ. Candice, are you anywhere? Other than that, I'm still working my way through the extras, but am I right that there's only three deleted scenes? Am I missing something?

The FA Calendar
I swore I'd only pimp it once, but since it arrived today, I am just so enthralled by its brilliance that I had to pimp it again. I got the Covers Collection calendar (which also has one non-cover-image in it) and it's just beyond amazing. The artists (scroll down if you click) who all donated their amazing work to FA are just beyond brilliant, and being able to see the rich and delicious detail of the images is such a thrill and a treat. Special lurve to [Unknown site tag], who did all the layout tasks. It's hanging on my wall, and I am so happy! I also now have a Draco mug, a very cute set of The Government Stole My Toad postcards and a WolfStar magnet. My office is now subtlely FictionAlleyed. Whee.

I've been saying that Dan needs to retire that Towel Girl story for years. But on the other hand...it is a really good story, I can't exactly blame him for wanting to keep it around. Although I'm sure Emma and Rupert are sick of hearing about it.

There are 5 deleted scenes. If you click on that little scroll thing on the bottom after the first 3, it takes you to the last 2.

Speaking of Blockbuster, I drove by one yesterday and was quite tempted to get out of the car and request to have it when they're done. THERE WAS NO HERMIONE!!!!!!! SHE WAS CUT OFF!!!!! I want that one. LOL Sorry all you H/Hr maties.

Personally, I was a little disappointed with the deleted scenes on this one. They were a little thin and seemed mostly to be piddly bits. Frankly I was hoping for a bit more Sirius, Remus or Snape or simply a smidge more character development like we had with the first two.

I'm wondering if WB is holding out on us till the big collossal mega-seven volume set that is sure to come out after they complete the series in theatres.

Either that or perhaps Mr. Cuaron is more conservative with his filming and there really wasn't much more to be shown?

If they filmed that deleted scene with Neville and the passwords, they must at least have scripted Sirius in Gryffindor Tower, even if they decided not to shoot it -- though it's an awfully finished scene for something they would have known early on would not be in the film because the necessary prequel was missing. And I want to see THAT, dammit!

It was $19.96! O_O Usually first releases like THAT are $15 or so.

Are you planning to put the 2005 art on any clothing? (Either the full cover or the individual Harry, Hermione etc characters?)
