A-Rod is a git. We did our Moms for Kerry event today - so many cute kids - and Harry's friend Benji was walking with a sign amid the sidewalk cafe tables at a place called Sushi Samba where Rodriguez was. Now, I know he's a Bush supporter and that's understandable for him. But other Bush supporters as we walked past were nice to the kids.

Rodriguez, otoh, just glared at Ben and wouldn't move his chair so the kid could get by. So now I can say it. Goooooooo, Red Sox!

(Actually, a few of our group started chanting that after we passed, which was probably not nice of us, but nobody glares at our kids!)

Bobby Gant from QAF, otoh? Not only nice, he remembered my friends Liza, Josh & Lisa from when he'd been an RA at Penn back in 89-90. Very cool guy. Still.

He is a git. We're glad he left the Texas Rangers.

Of course A-Rod is a git. *hisses at nasty, nasty A-Rod and waves Mariners pennant*

My mother says: "It probably had nothing to do with politics. A-Rod is full of himself and not a friendly and gracious baseball player. Where would those big salaries be without the family of fans?"

Yeah, we don't much like him up here. If you're listening to the Mariners play whatever team he's on at the time on the radio, you can always tell when he's up to bat, 'cause the booing drowns everything out.

I'm taking it that this A-Rod person is a baseball player, then?

A-Rod is the third baseman for the Yankees, and has a bit of an ego on him. Or, more succintly, is a git.

The bf's reaction to the story:
"I would have just walked right up to him and slapped stuff outta his hand." *makes huge 'what did I do wrong?' gesture* "It was a fair line to my table!"

I'm not surprised at all . . . ugh (Also not surprised that he's a Bush supporter). He's always seemed like an ass. He and Jeter are my most hated men in baseball and always have been . . . how convienent that they're on the same team now! Hooray for the chanting! I would have loved to see that.

Well, of course A-Rod has to try to win back his "manly" image after his girly swat at Bronson Arroyo's glove during ALCS game 6 :D

I am SO glad the Sox lost out to the Yankees on that trade.
