Only one comment about the new Bush/Cheney "wolves" anti-kerry ad:
When the wolves come out of the walls, it's all over.

Now, given that Porter Goss proposed cuts in 94/95 that were larger than the ones proposed by Kerry in the contemporaneous time period, I'll leave it up to you as to whose walls the wolves are coming out of.

Somehow Seattle has been fairly void of Bush commercials (same for Kerry). We're plagued with local candidate sludge (especially for Senate), but there has been a complete absence of presidential commercials. Last week I was in Denver, and all of a sudden I was bombarded with Bush commercials. I don't even remember what the commercial was about. Some scare tactic something or another. What I do remember is the end clip where Bush says he approves this add. There he is at his desk, on the phone, papers in hand, telling us he approves this add. Is this Bush's way of trying to tell us he is important? That he does actually work and can read? Is he too busy with his presidency to put down the phone, look at the camera, and tell us he supports this add? Well, of course that's what the add makers want us to think. That Bush is spending every waking moment working hard to save this country that he doesn't have time for these adds. Every second of his commercials are carefully crafted to elicit emotion out of the viewer. They're about perpetuating this fear he has created throughout his presidency and keeping himself in power. It's disgusting, it's disturbing, and even worse, it works. It's exactly what his supporters want and need to see to keep them hooked. And it's exactly what the less informed American will fall prey to. I shudder to think what will happen in the upcoming years if he's successful.

When the wolves come out of the walls, it's all over.

Amen.
