For the past two years, I've done the Great American Teach-In at the local high school -- doing a class on medieval and Renaissance foods. If I can teach just one kid that Henry VIII could not possibly have eaten a turkey leg, I will have done my part. ;)

SCA = Society for Creative Anachronisms. It is a group that strives to faithfully recreate the past, esp. the fighting, I believe, and esp. the middle ages. I know they host wars every year throughout the country also ...
