1. I can't believe Bush froze on his first line.

2. George, people don't know what you believe - see the poll from yesterday that said about 70% of your supporters think that you support the US should be part of the world court & nuke-you-lar test ban treaty. So, no, wrong on that one, dude.

3. We are watching cspan. Do all the networks show both candidates at the same time? Because omg, bush looks frozen. Very My Pet Goat-ish. Weird.

More to come, although they'll all be separate posts. Am on sidekick and can't edit posts.

I'm watching on NBC. We have a sometimes split-screen, showing both candidates, and sometimes just one candidate at a time.

Personally I like the way neither of them can seem to keep Sadaam Hussein and bin Laden separate.

Oh, yeah, we really needed our president stripping our constitional rights from us, going over the heads of the supreme court rulings of the past and extending governmental powers -- and most especially presidental powers at the expense of the courts and Congress! We're all safe as houses now!

(Um, sorry, Heidi. But, man, the BS that's coming out of BOTH of the candidate's mouths has me flabbergasted.)

The whole thing is hil-freaking-larious. I am vastly entertained and amused.

"We have allies! Our good friends in Poland!" Quality humor.

I'd be more amused if I didn't think what happens in this election could make the difference in my right to choose what I want for my own body, my liberty and the right to protest, to be heard, to not be held indefinitely without contact with lawyers or the outside world, and my taxes. Oh, lord, the taxes.

I think I might be able to laugh at it if they both didn't just sound so dumb. If I didn't know better, I'd think this was an Iraqi election, not an American one.

I know, but you'd think they'd make a little effort to touch on how to pay for all this. Yeah, Bush made that crack, but that's about it. Or, even better, how Iraq doesn't equal the entire world. (Not that the questions have been conducive to that.)

Well, at least Kerry can pronounce "nuclear" correctly.

Daily Show tomorrow will have some post debate commentary. Tonight's show was already taped when the debate aired. But as yesterday's show demonstrated, journalists don't need to wait for an event to write up their story! ;)

It really amuses me--but also saddens me because people probably buy it--that Bush keeps worrying about the "message" it sends troops to say this is the wrong war, wrong place, wrong time. Like it's a pep rally or something and if we don't say that the troops won't notice the situation you're in. Personally, I would imagine the troops' response to that statement would be relief that we all see what a mess they're in. In reading about WWI the idea at home that the war was great only added to resentment on the part of the soldiers.

"I understand what it means to be Commander-in-Chief"

Bush is a giggling moron. He doesn't seem to be answering the questions. He starts to, but then gets side-tracked or remembers what his handlers told him to talk about. Wonder if he'll break his own record for saying the words "September 11th"? (i.e. Boooooo....I'm the only who can save you.......don't look at your paycheck (or welfare check now), don't look at your electric bill, your cable bill, your phone bill, and you damn sure better not look at your health care bill...don't drink the water...forget about the forests...don't breathe the air...don't even worry about that silly Constitution thingee...only worry about Osama...Osama...Osama...huh? We went after the wrong guy? Damn! I thought he was in Iraq!!!)

But I hate Bush enough to vote for Kerry.

Bush just looked annoyed when Kerry was speaking, which I thought was funny.

I did like his line about loving the wife of a dead soldier. :P

CBS was also switching: single shot, side-by-side Kerry/Bush, and then towards the end they started putting the moderator at the bottom of the screen, under the side-by-side K/B.
