Since a new sidekick is being introduced, they're unloading their current stockpile for 49.95 each (if you sign up for service with t-mobile).

I really recommend getting one; they're amazing! And it looks like I'll be unloading my current one sometime this fall... especially if I can get my new one with a hint of pink.

I'm still a little unclear about uses of sidekicks/brownberries/etc.....

You can use it as your cellphone, although I prefer to use it separate from my cell, because it's just easier for me that way.

You do, but you don't have to use it if you prefer your other one. Of course, you can change your current phone number over to the Sidekick - me, though, I prefer to use my cell and sidekick separately.

Actually, after I posted, I saw that you had said just that. I should read a bit more carefully.
So in continuation of stupid mode I ask: "This 39.99 plan gets one the sidekick wireless service?" If so, I'm tempted, very tempted.

Oh yes, I remember seeing that when it 'leaked' and they linked to pictures and stuff on slashdot.

I'm hesitant of a black keyboard, though, even if I like the idea of speakerphone, Y!M, and the better camera than that other thinger you had to plug in.

I got rid of my old sidekick a couple of months ago because of the Really Crappy Reception. Looking at that thing makes me want to get one again.

It looks like they really sat down and thought about what things were annoying on the current version and fixed them. I'm almost tempted to get a replacement of the 49.99 type (I'm having charging/things falling off issues, though that's probably because I've subjected mine to pretty heavy use). I'd settle for ability to c&p urls, though!
