I just heard that Paula Danzinger passed away. I'm off to pick up a copy of The Cat Ate My Gymsuit, since I can't find mine anymore, in memorium.

What an amazing writer she was. Her books will be such wonderful tools for girls for generations.

How sad! I have the sequel There's a Bat in Bunk Five; I found it at a used bookstore recently. Must re-read in memorium.

And "There's A Bat In Bunk 5" (...or something).

Sad. I hadn't heard. I really enjoyed her books (still do when I dig them out for rainy day reading).

Oh, that's so sad. I loved her books.

Hm...wonder if I actually *have* any of her books or if I always just check them out of the library (I remember reading them during my live-in-the-library years, which means I may have never actually bought them)...

Since I didn't work yesterday, I had no idea. That's so sad - and ironic. I just got a young summer reader started on the "Amber Brown" books this morning.
Here's a link to a very nice bio and interview through the KidsReads website: http://www.kidsreads.com/authors/au-danziger-paula.asp

She left us too soon.

Oh.

The Pistachio Prescription was one of my favorite books growing up, and still something I go back and reread.

She will, indeed, be missed.

What terribly sad news :'(. I met her once in 7th grade, and I was breathless and awed because I had loved so many of her quirky, funny books that made me laugh. She's someone to remember

[livejournal.com profile] cedarlibrarian, I think, reported earlier this week that she'd had a series of strokes. So sad. She will be missed.

Oh, hon, I am sorry. Finding out news via lj is never the best way, but in a way it's better than never knowing at all.

Yeah, that's true. I think it would have had more impact AFTER the MWC...but still. It's never nice to learn about someone dying, especially someone you admire. >.

God, I remembering adoring her books when I was about 13 or so. They were just everything I wanted to read at that age. I can't believe she's gone. :(
