So where have I been?
Jun. 30th, 2004 07:55 pmiUniverse. And virtually hidden away with
emilylaughed and
gwendolyngrace as we finish up the proceedings from Nimbus - 2003.
Yes, I know, you thought the event was over a year ago, but it's always been our goal to publish as many of the papers as possible, and next month, we'll finally be able to do it. If you attended Nimbus (actually, if you registered, even if you didn't manage to come) you'll be getting an email in the next day or two about how to either order the electronic version, or how to get a discount on the printed version, so, registrants, keep your eye on whatever mailbox you were using when you registered for Nimbus, because that's the email addy we'll be sending it to. Once it's been sent, of course, we'll post all the details over on our LJ at
hporlando and our Yahoogroups. And yes, those who didn't attend will have a chance to buy the proceedings, too.
Among the papers will be
ajhalluk's Law in the Wizarding World,
kitsune13's Subversion paper, the shipper debate (featuring
zorb,
angua9 and
wahlee98),
awelkin's study on writing workshops, some panel things from
hp_lexicon,
pegkerr,
psychic_serpent,
pennylin and
elfundeb, manifesto-y things from
wendywoowho and a bunch of photos from roving reporter
melissa_tlc - if I left you off this list and I have a paper from you, it's not meant to be a slight - I'm just a little burned out now and can't bear to open the document again to see who else is in there. Wibble.
It's clocking in at about 400 pages, and we have over 40 papers included - not mine, though, because I just ran out of time, and even if I had written it last week, we would've had to revise it again because of the decision by the Supremes on Tuesday, whee! So it's probably best that we left it out.
Emmy's done just the most amazing job with the cover and the art, and the company we're using for the CDRoms is terrific, and I think the person who's working with us over there is about to become a fangirl herself.
But for now, I'm just going to close the document for a day or two, and take a break, and focus on server changeovers for TLC and FA, which are both wonderfully good things. So again, whee.
