Mar. 21st, 2004 10:30 am1987.
I used to keep a tape atop the vhs recorder when I was in high school, and when I would watch mtv, I'd put it in and tape stuff I liked.
I just found the one from fall, 1987
Kane Gang - motortown
Wham - I'm Your Man
Squeeze - hourglass & black coffee in bed
Crowded House - something so strong & don't dream it's over
Terrence Trent D'arby - wishing well
Bee Gees - you win again
Pseudo echo - funkytown
Madonna - borderline & material girl
Def Leppard - photograph
INXS - what you need (an Mtv exclusive and beautiful michael hutchence and later doing it live on american abndstand)
Pet Shop Boys - it's a sin + an interview
Swing Out Sister - breakout (4 or 5 times - I do love that song!)
Curiosity Killed the Cat's Misfit - *on* club Mtv!!!1!!!
OMD - If You leave
Dire Straits - rollergirl (how bad a video is this during the 'band' parts?? And I'm thinking this video presages the iPod Universe.)
A-ha - take on me
Corey Hart - never surrender
John Parr - st elmo's fire (demi! rob!)
New Order - true faith
Howard Jones - things will only get better
Richard Marx - don't mean nothing
Billy Joel - you may be right, live
George harrison I Got my mind set on you (world premiere)
REM - The one I love
Wendy & Lisa - waterfalls (
aswas - now, isn't that a surprise?)
Bruce Springsteen - brilliant disguise
Bourgouse Tagg - I don't mind at all (anyone haave this on a cd?)
Moody Blues - in your wildest dreams
Mike & The Mechanics - silent running
The Hooters - satellite
Cutting Crew - I just died in youur arms
Elton John - wrap her up (wha? And is that george michael on backup??)
Omg. Stand By Me with River and Wil in the video, and river's got a guitar and they're doing this dance move and WAH SAD.
Then the music stops and there's an episode of The Young Ones and then that michael kamen levi's ad where he strips in the laundromat.
VH1 classics OWNZ me. And I need to figure out how to get this onto dvd.

Date: 2004-03-21 07:38 am (UTC)The best ones I've heard of thus far are made by Panasonic:
Panasonic DMR-E80H Progressive-Scan DVD Player/Recorder with Hard Drive
There are others Panasonic makes with a larger hard drive, but this is the one I'll probably get because it's most likely the one I can afford. *g*
