heidi1. About 600 pepople are skating, biking and blading past my house right now, for a special weekend-o-wheels here on Miami Beach. They look like they're having such fun - and I think now that Harry's old enough, we need to start doing some bike riding on weekends. Maybe I'll get Aaron a bike for his birthday...

flourish and other fandomers back in the fall, has a great article about fanfic and the educational value thereof. It's a recommended read for all of you and also for any doubting-parents/teachers/disbelievers who think you're not getting anything beneficial out of fanfic. While he focuses on college & high school students, I think the perks also go into those of us who are "in the real world", as fanfic writing, as well as the reading and discussion thereof, make an impact on one's day-to-day writing skills, which helps make this world a more literate one, too. Education doesn't stop when you get the sheepskin!

4. Am also now finally caught up on the past 30 hours of LJ. skip=540? WHA? I may have to cull down the number of LJs I read on an ordinary day, but there's nothing I want to give up! What do I doooooooooo?
