WIP Amnesty Day

Before I even knew that today was to be WIP Amnesty Day, I'd set up surfeitofcurses, so I could use it as a way to edit the story from wherever I am, in the hopes of getting myself in gear to write a final, OotP-semicompliant Chapter 11 (the first draft of Chapter 11, which was about 2 years in the making, is here and while I expect a few scenes to change, there's a limit as to how much changing I can do given what happened in chapters 9 and 10 of SoC already.

I still do hope to finish it, but I'm not even going to consider doing so until after the new FA database is done and beta-tested and working.

Now, if only I could talk epicyclical into doing something with the Lucius Xmas Carol and that slightly silly Harry/Ginny + unicorns and an ebil, ebil, groom-seducing Draco tale from the summer of 2002...

I've probably mentioned this before, but SoC was the first fic that I ever read... It's what brought me into fandom and got me hooked in the first place.

I don't know whether to be grateful or angry. ;)

Actually, I wasn't ever going to give the url to anyone, which is why there are no LJ cuts there. It's was just up there to be easy for me to access it on the handheld whenever I have time to fidget with it. So it will remain cut-free.

Surfeit of Curses was one of the first fan fics I've read, and it's still one of the best. It would be so great to see this WIP become finished. Good luck with the project! :)

Yes, that one. Gotta love Brat. I need more Josephine Tey novels in my life - and can you imagine what would happen on LJ if that was turned into a feature film? O_O

I think there was a version of it done for Masterpiece Theatre ages ago, with a very hot actor as Brat Farrar -- which led me to read the book, actually...

This was one of the first fics I read. I haven't had any time for reading fics lately, so have compensated by sending Nyssa off to FA to read fics. She quite often emails me with recs. Wish I had time.
