kerrikins: Which of my icons do you think most represent me? Which can you instantly identify as relating to my posts, without having to look at the name?
I went to goodyear today & waited 20 minutes for someone to help me, while getting ill from tire-fumes, but at least
praetorianguard kept me amused on the phone. And they said they couldn't even test the levels in my tire un;ess I waited for 90 minutes, which I didn't have time to do. Methinks Goodyear is going to get a nasty letter from me tomorrow.

In other words, do I need all my songs on it, or is 1000 enough?

Date: 2004-01-06 11:59 am (UTC)For the i-pod, while the 20gb one is awfully tempting... how can you resist the pink?! Especially whenever that color comes around I'm reminded of you and my other friend

Date: 2004-01-06 12:05 pm (UTC)As for the ipod. I am having similar thoughts myself ... do I really need more than 1000 songs? If you go for the colour - I see you as pretty in pink.

Date: 2004-01-06 12:07 pm (UTC)As for the icons... the Legally Heidi is a dead giveaways whose posts, I am reading.

Date: 2004-01-06 12:07 pm (UTC)The other thing, the Mini is really ... mini, and could easily be lost, whereas the 20GB is quite a bit bigger and has the dock and everything in it, so... more bang for your buck. More space, all the accessories, and you can use it for pictures and data as well as music - which would come in handy on holidays (there's a nifty media reader you can get to put all your pics from a digital camera directly onto your iPod for downloading later to your computer when you get home, meaning you don't have to keep changing memory cards, or run out of space on them).
Plus, if you get the 20GB, you can use one of my 15% discounts. :-)

Date: 2004-01-06 12:15 pm (UTC)ah, see, I think I'd want it like the old iBook customizations I've seen...where you take the white out and replace it with a color, and then put the clear back on over it. :D

Date: 2004-01-06 12:15 pm (UTC)Trust me on this one, Heidi. I should know, that's why I got the 20 GB one.

Date: 2004-01-06 12:25 pm (UTC)I totally associate teh typewriter icon with you. I get very confused when oher people use it.

Date: 2004-01-06 12:28 pm (UTC)I say go for the 20G one, as much as I LOFF the pink one. You will never be left thinking "well I COULD have had extra space BUT..." ;-)

Date: 2004-01-06 12:31 pm (UTC)I think I'd get the big one - better to have extra space than not enough, right?

Date: 2004-01-06 12:32 pm (UTC)But get a dock thing with it as well.
Do you really need more than 1000 songs when you give up the opportunity to get it in SILVER?
Available worldwide in April.
Woe is me.
And no matter what they claim, it is bigger than my mobile phone (volume wise - though it is a very close thing!).

Date: 2004-01-06 12:33 pm (UTC)As I've already chosen my own pink mini for February, too, I think that's the one you should get.

Date: 2004-01-06 12:43 pm (UTC)What's the lifecycle of a tire anyway?
You know, the fact one of your icons has your name on it kind of helps with identification. XD
You want pink. You know you do.

Date: 2004-01-06 02:54 pm (UTC)Also, for me, the 20 gigs are essential for when I'll be away from my computer for months at the time in the future. The minis are teh pretty, though...

Date: 2004-01-06 03:09 pm (UTC)Methinks I just died of Alliteration. That's twice in one night!
Heidi - at the moment (bear in mind Pig is my newest toy and I use him quite a lot) I only have about a thousand songs on it, inclusing some OotP and RotK. So unless you plan to elope in the near future, the small one should probably be fine for you. What with the pretty and all.

Date: 2004-01-06 03:31 pm (UTC)As for icons, whenever I see the typewriter, I know it's you, no doubt about it.

Date: 2004-01-06 04:05 pm (UTC)Keep in mind, though, that it's also $99 for the 3 yr warranty, which might or might not be worth your while to purchase.
Also: iPods need to live in cases, because their outsides get scratched easily. You can just as easily get a pink iSkin (like a condom for your iPod!) than a clear iSkin for your pink iPod.
Have fun! I love my iPod a lot. I'd definitely recomment the Griffin brand of iPod accessories to get the most out of your iPod.

Date: 2004-01-06 09:42 pm (UTC)Obviously, the 'LEGALLY HEIDI' one. And the typewriter. I just *know* it's you! and as someone else said, I get confused when someone else uses it! I also loff the 'Gap of Rohan'; wish I had one near me.
BTW, can someone point me to where I can get some of the HP puppet theatre icons! Major squeeing on my part when I see those, and too computer stupid to know how to make them.
As for ipods, don't know much 'bout those either, but teh pretty, pretty pink one is very pretty . . .

Date: 2004-01-06 10:46 pm (UTC)As for iPod, go for 20gb. I just bought myself one (as a Christmas present for myself, since hubby didn't take the hint ::grin::) . . . I've had it about a week, and have already put about 5gb of music. And I've not yet uploaded my PoA audio book yet. Although I probably could get by with 10 gb, if the minis are smaller than that . . . no way.
The other bonus of the larger one is that, if you use a digital camera, you can get an adapter to use the iPod for photo storage. I will definitely do this on certain vacations (I hate taking my computer when I'm staying in hotel), and I can easily take 3 gb of photos in a 10 day trip. So that was a big factor in my decision to get the larger model. Don't know if this would make a difference to you, though.
Either way, I predict you will LOVE your iPod! I am madly in love with mine - it is SO much fun, and I'm actually listening to music now (something I haven't done in ages, because it just wasn't convenient for me to sort through CDs). Enjoy! :-)
Get a 40GB
Date: 2004-01-06 11:10 pm (UTC)On the icons... the Legally Heidi one.

Date: 2004-01-07 04:03 pm (UTC)that's how I went, and I love my pretty pink ipod, plus the back doesn't get all scratched up and funky with fingerprints and whatever.

Date: 2004-01-11 01:22 pm (UTC)As for the ipods... Hm... I'd get the full on 20GB one so you can put movies on it too! Not that you can watch 'em on there, but it'll take off some of the load from your computer. I like the whiteness of the original iPods, so I guess that's why. If they make a new mini one in white, then I'll definitely get it!
