In the continuing saga of "what were they thinking?" I'm in toys r us now and theyu have lotr trivial pursuit and risk, which vaguely make sense.
And monopoly, where the top 2 properties wre mount doom & barad dur, and bag end is the lowest.

Wha?

Just smile, nod, and slowly back away from the display.

Wha?

If you ever need proof that commercialism is evil, this proves that Suron is in control. My favourite wacked out Toys R Us trips was when I found Presidential Barbie with her shirt unbuttoned to her waist.

She claimed she was president, but the background on the box was her making her acceptance speech. Wonder how she got elected?

LotR Fandomopoly would probably work, wouldn't it? Not commercially, but on a game level.

Well, if they're going chronologically in the books that kind of make sense. I mean, Frodo never went to Baradur (thank gods) but the direction of his journey is Bag End -> Mount Doom and then back.

Yeah. One would think that the property values in a desolate wasteland would be considerably less than a decent Hobbit hole in a safe neighborhood.

I don't know about Barad-dur (metal spikes as architecture, not really my thing), but I always get cold during winter, so Mount Doom might not be so bad for the holidays... Maybe a time-share arrangement?

The LotR Risk game is actually pretty good. A good map and some interesting alterate rules (like a semi-random turn limit on the game which fixes some of the too long and drawn out problems of original Risk)

Oh my gosh, LotR Trivial Pursuit. It's stuff like this that makes me glad that I read random people's livejournals. (I'm really not all that scary...I don't think.)

Nyk.
