Belatedly and randomly
Nov. 15th, 2003 08:20 pmTrailer pretty.
Head hurts. Am coming down with head cold.
HP California people, anyone want to meet me at my hotel for a drink a week from tomorrow, in the afternoon at some point?
folk, am sure you haven't been able to see the trailer in full, but it's broken down into a shot-by-shot over on TLC for you to see. When I saw the bit about the choir, I thought of you, and also of
praetorianguard. And speaking of
praetorianguard, I'm going to talk to Adam in NYC about seeing Tony in June when I see him next month. K?
Highlights from the trip:
1. Harry got to swim with a dolphin and he giggled and wiggled the whole time, but it was all in all an unforgettable experience for him. Jon and I didn't go, but shopped in Nassau instead, and I managed to pick up two v. cute cosmetics bags which I think may not be 100% knocked off. In other words, I think the material is real, but the product was completed "off the books". Am bad, bad girl.
2. Jon is crawling a bit - he's having fun being able to get from place to place on his own, but I'm now a bit more harried, having to keep a closer eye on him. It also means he's out of the bouncy seat now permanently. No idea what we're going to do at the in-laws next week.
3. The boat had great in-cabin movies. I have now seen (or re-seen) Matrix II, PotC, Bruce Almighty, Charlie's Angels II (which was not completely bad, or I was completely insane by Day 5; not sure which), Terminator III (look! a naked gov!), Daddy Day Care and the remake of Freaky Friday.
Is it bad when the highlight of your 7 day cruse is the in-cabin movie selection?
Well, good, because it wasn't. The house shiraz-by-the-glass was yummy and the food was fine, and some of the deserts were amazing and the spa was lovely for the whole 2 hours I got to spend there and the sheets were really comfortable.
And I am so glad to be home.
I realised that I am probably addicted to the internet, but I don't care. I had the same twitchy feeling about not being able to read LJ as I did about not being able to read the NY Times (online or off) or Salon Magazine, or pick up the phone and call people, or a whole bunch of things I do, day in and day out. So is that addiction, or ordinaryness? I've now been on the internet for about 1/3 of my life; I think that qualifies as ordinary.
Or self-justification.
Missed you all muchly. Am off to do a skip=700 and try and read trailer-comments without going to each LJ individually. Wish me luck!
PS - any great new fics in the past week that I just *must* read? Please rec 'em here!

Date: 2003-11-15 05:40 pm (UTC)i went upstate (camping) for two weeks this summer, without the internet. it nearly killed me. i've been on the internet for nearly 1/2 of my life. (i first got AOL[:shudder] when i was 9 years old, i think...) so...it is far beyond natural to me.

Date: 2003-11-15 07:24 pm (UTC)Any time tomorrow is fine (I painted my grandmother's family room today, and will most assuredly be home all damn day), but make sure you have time to talk, since I've got stuff to bring up to you, too.

Date: 2003-11-15 07:44 pm (UTC)I know I'm addicted to the internet, so I have no room to speak. I get twitchy when someone else is on the comp during *my* designated time. >_<
Or self-justification.
Heh. Well I certainly do a lot of that too. :P
