What I just posted in [livejournal.com profile] kvader's LJ, but which I doubt he'll unscreen:

[livejournal.com profile] kvader wrote:

GT has been gone for a month now, and the Harry Potter fandom is still fighting. I find that funny, because various people associated with FA blamed it all on the people at GT. Well, who do they get to blame now? Sugarquill? Nah, that'll never happen.

People...you are not celebrities. If you were to walk away right now, 99% of the people wouldn't remember you in a year. Get the fuck over yourselves.

Some random and anonymous person whose post Kvader unscreened said:
OF COURSE they'll blame Sugarquill. Or The Hidden Tower. Or Sink Into Your Eyes. Or any other pro-R/Hr and pro-H/G site that the mental cases at FA think they can get away with blaming. They're completely delusional and have the attitude that if they can't have their way, then they'll destroy the fandom entirely just so those of us who were right all along can't enjoy it. Pathetic and childish, really. And as if we need any more proof of just how much these people are out of touch with reality, have a laugh at this...

http://www.hp-lexicon.org/essay-harry-hermione.html

Written by none other than Penny Linsenmayer, one of the H/Hr adminazis at HP4G, which needless to say, is also associated with FA. Coincidence? I think not.

Oh my God are you guys behind the times! First of all, Penny is not a mod over on HPfGU - she quit back in the spring. About six months ago, actually.

Second of all, there is NO relationship between FA and HPfGU at all, except that some people who have fanfic on or post at FA are also members of the HPfGU list.

Third, none of the FA mods or coders have ANYTHING against R/Hr or H/G shippers, despite the lies that have frequently been told to many R/Hr and H/G shippers over the past two years, and it's offensive to people like me who WANT to build bridges among fandomers to be told that we are consumed with hatred and nonsense like that. When you say that FA admins/mods "blame" R/Hr or H/G shippers, what on earth are you contending we've blamed them FOR?

Fourth, I can't imagine blaming any of the SQ mods, admins and/or ghosts for anything nefarious, simply because they're not in the habit of *doing* anything nefarious. Among their site-team are some of my good friends, and there are Quillers all over my friends list, and I'm on a number of theirs. And in part, it's because I've found that talking to people, rather than lying about them, especially when you think you're talking behind their backs, is much more positive and productive and in keeping with the spirit of the HP books. SQ has been on FA's Links We Love page since the site was founded, and they are certainly going to stay there.

2:53 pm ETA:
a. Right all along about what? Am curious!
b. The reason I posted this here is because I have a feeling, based on past posts made by myself and others on kvader's LJ, that my reply will never be unscreened.

3:20 ETA:
I deleted the unscreening-bit because it seems it wasn't, and I was just misreading my sidekick (again!) as it doesn't show background colours...

Word. I replied too, saying this:

:))

You seem to lump the entire fandom except for GT, SQ and a few small sites under the banner 'FA'.

Yes, most of the active fandom is registered at FA, but most hardly ever go to FAP. Many are more actively involved with Veelas Inc, or Armchair Slash, or RS, or many other non-FA sites. Only a tiny minority of BNFs are mods or regular visitors to FAP.

Penny has nothing to do with FA, btw.

Fighting?
Fighting about what?
I've seen no fighting, everything has seems very peaceful.

[livejournal.com profile] kvader is a pussy. He doesn't have the balls to be direct. He'll just run off and delete his journal again.

*yawns*

So, tiresome.

I never really got this mentality about FA that some of the R/Hr and/or H/G community has. I've never once gotten flack from anyone at FA for being a R/Hr shipper.

As someone on the outside of it all in this fandom at least, I have to say that unfortunately, there will always be some bickering in fandom. Someone will always dislike someone else because it appears they have more than them or are more popular or just because they like the 'wrong' pairing or see canon in a different way. It's not just the HP fandom. I have yet to see any fandom that doesn't have its little (or big) spats. And it doesn't matter who comes and who goes because the next group of people will have their own fights. But I say keep trying to build those bridges because then you'll be able to say you tried your best. You really have done some nice and wonderful things for this fandom no matter what others might have to say. It wasn't required of you and yet you have given up your time and talents to do it so others can join in and have fun.

She also did that (shock!horror!) essay on Harry/Hermione that the anonymous poster linked to.

C'mon John, what do you think of Harry/Hermione? (cue: "ew!het!"?)

Dude, me either. Not that I'm heavily involved with R/Hr shippers, but I've never, ever seen anything that seems to warrant this kind of persecution complex.

Me neither, especially since R/Hr and H/G shippers outnumber H/Hr shippers on FAP.

You know, FLACK would make a great name for a new scent at LUSH for bath bombes. Then, you could give people FLACK for holidays.

Or perhaps I should make a new sticker on FA that just says FLACK, which would make a terrific holiday prezzie.

From the perpetually naiive one...

Not sure what all this is about, but I wanted to let you know that as someone who doesn't stray far from the Quill, I've never been made to feel bad for shipping R/H or H/G or being a Quiller by anyone from FA.

So... someone some where has done something right and built a bridge.

As the wise one I call [livejournal.com profile] ashavah once told me, "Fan fiction based on children's books. Fan fiction based on children's books." That usually puts things into perspective...

Aside from the Aja/Stacy thing it's been all quite on the fandom front, kind of peaceful actually. No troll journals stalking people, no kerfuffles to stir folks up, and the ship wars seem to even be holding a truce at the moment. There's the same old tensions boiling below the surface, but none of them have come to blows recently, at least not publicly. It's been sort of nice.

Methinks someone (and I don't mean you Heidi) is a little peeved because there *isn't* anything going on to create fandom drama and excitement.
