Johnny Cash died overnight. So did John Ritter.

Cash had been ill, and he knew his time was running out. He was 71.

Ritter collapsed and died of a previously undiagnosed heart ailment. He was 54.

And you'll hear him a lot over the next year. He aslo did the voice of Clifford the Big Red Dog on pbs. They have 5 years or so of eps, so it'll runn for a while longer. Great kidshow.

I love Clifford...I was sad when my son outgrew watching it. Ritter was a man of amazing talent.

And Johnny Cash...*weeps quietly*

Clifford is on right before Sesame Street here. (In fact, it's on right now.) So far, SS is the only show she's watching, but I've heard that Clifford is good, so I'm sure we'll be seeing it soon.

The voice of Clifford should not be dead. It's all wrong :(

As for Johnny Cash...I'm amazed at how affected I am by the news. He was so cool.

*weeps for both of them*

I grew up listening to Johnny Cash records. I love his gravely voice. Whether he sang songs about being in prision or worshipping God, he always sounded true. When June passed on, I knew he couldn't be far behind. I know what we'll be playing for music this morning. I need some time with the man in black.

This saddens me very much. There are too few members of the Hollywood society who see the power that their industry holds. He was one of them. He did the things he wanted to do. He was a funny and genuine person. He is missed.

Johnny Cash's death makes my heart heavy as he was another of the industry's greatest entertainers.

*wipes tear*

I wasn't shocked about Johnny Cash; I knew he'd been ill a very long time. National Public Radio did a nice segment about him this morning. I WAS totally shocked about John Ritter. Poor w00bie. He seemed like a nice guy.

:: sigh :: I just woke up and turned on my laptop and I was greeted with this news. I'm very sad about John Ritter - I've loved his work, and he was only FIFTY-FOUR! :: sighs ::

Today has been a sad day.

I heard about it on the radio this morning. I wasn't surprised about Johnny Cash, since we knew he was going to die soon, but when they mentioned John Ritter...I was in shock. :(
