Basically, I think we've hit critical mass with the number of lawyers & law students in the HP fandom and in other fandoms as well - all of you, especially [livejournal.com profile] rivkat, please invite other lawyers & law students to join/friend it - that we should have somewhere to post cases, articles, anything else that is interesting to the legal questions that impact on, and occasionally wreak havoc on, being a fan, and all that can include. But it can be more than that, if we want it to...

Hi there, lurker-Jen here, I believe we might have had a conversation once on Potter Parents. Anyway, I had no idea there were this many lawyers out there, and as I'm sitting on my own dusty law degree (doing the at-home mom thing now) I'd love to join up. Good idea.

*lurks*

I'm officially watching this community - not a lawyer, but run a Potter site, so am keenly interested in Potter fandom law. Great concept!

But... I'm not in any fandom - I just lurk around the edges.

Ooh, can I join that fandom? But ... does it have Jonathan Tasini/Roy Orbison crossover slash?

Have signed on as a watcher, as am not a lawyer, but an editor with a strong interest in (c) law/1st Amendment/e-text issues.

I second that. I like my little outpost just across the fandom border.

Does this mean I've been annexed? :P

Have joined, and have told [livejournal.com profile] mandysbitch, also a law student, about it as well.

YES! Have been wanting to see this happen.

Talk about C&D's and why the thing to do is *not* harrass the author's lawyers...
