Oh, what a night...
Jun. 19th, 2003 08:25 amLast night, Aaron took Harry out for Comic Book Day (for the uninitiated, comic books are usually released on Wednesday, and Aaron goes as if it were a religious ceremony). And they went to Burger King too.
And at around 10:45 last night, Harry showed signs of food poisoning, by throwing up ALL over his bed. And his dad.
Strip the bed, send them into the shower, start a load of laundry, dispense ginger ale.
Harry went to sleep in our bed after that.
One am, and he threw up again, all over me - including in my hair (ew!). Strip the bed, take him into the shower, have Aaron start a load of laundry and dispense ginger ale.
While I'm in the shower, Jon wakes up for milk - but Aaron hasn't showered yet and I don't let him pick up baby - instead he sings while I finish quick shower.
Jon and I are up until 3 for milk, then I finally get back to bed.
4:45. Harry threw up again, but only on me and one sheet - no destruction of pillows, featherbed and sheets this time - so we're back in the shower but luckily, the laundry load is lighter.
It's now 8:30. He's been sleeping almost 4 hours, and I guess his tummy is empty.
I'm getting good at sleeping while nursing again, so I've caught another 2 hours since 5:30, but I'm going to be offline most of today, with the boys.
But in other news, I'm in today's New York Times. Wheee.

Date: 2003-06-19 06:23 am (UTC)Hugs and sympathies- we had years of vomiting every night, and it is still a vivid memory. Hope Harry is now well again, and that you can recover a bit over the next day or so (storing up your energy for the marathon read!)

Date: 2003-06-19 07:12 am (UTC)She had McDonald's yesterday for lunch and started getting sick at around 9:30 pm (almost 8 hours to the minute after she ate the Quarter Pounder with Cheese). She was up all night getting sick to her stomach and with diarrea. I wonder if there is some bad meat getting shipped around the country.
Poor, poor Harry. And I also extend my sympathies to you and Aaron. How exhausting!
Massive hugs and schnoogles,
Elia

Date: 2003-06-19 10:10 am (UTC)I'm glad it's over and I hope Harry wakes up OK today!
It's nice that Aaron took him out for new comic day, though, and I hope they go again. Comics need more young readers.
Yesterday, I went through my Previews (late) and was happy to see a whole mess of Neil Gaiman books coming out soon. Today, I found that I could get most of it a lot cheaper at Amazon. This made me sad.
1. Because I did choose Amazon for the items I could get cheaper. (at least $5 cheaper in most cases, not just 10%)
2. Because my local comic store has jaded me enough that I wasn't willing to blow the extra money buying the books from them.
Probably by the time Harry is a teen, Aaron will be taking him more often to Borders for comic books than the comic store. Am sad.
Over-sharing, I know. Aaron should get a LJ. ;)
Unless he already has one, and then the joke's on me.
*hug* Wake up refreshed!
