This is the granite that we got for our countertops yesterday. Squee. I went to eight different places to find something I liked - and believe me, finding blue granite is close to impossible. I really wanted blue slate, but that is utterly nonexistent in the South, it seems.

The above colour is actually a discontinued line, which means we got it at about half the usual price (loffly!) and also explains why I couldn't find it anywhere else.

Also found a pretty stone with embedded sea shells to cover the ugly brick in front. Am considering also covering the patio - still unsure on that...

As has been said, it looks very pretty. Actually, it looks very like something that I seem to remember my parents having as part of a house we lived in when I was very young indeed (as opposed to the ancient wreck that I am now). I shall have to quiz them on it.
