I typed in "Gulf of Mexico" and it pulled up the book I've been looking for for at least 10 years - The Lion's Paw.

Unfortunately, the cheapest one on Alibris is about $60, so I'm going to keep looking for it elsewhere and will set up a search on eBay, but at least I know the title and author now.

Yay.

Excellent!

Holy shiznit!

Mr. PH and I were just rhapsodizing about that book today. Both of us had that book read to us by teachers in elementary school and loved it...

Some years ago I found and bought a copy for my brother. I wonder if he still has it. Hmmm. I think a lil' trip to Haslam's (huge used bookstore in St. Pete) is in order.

If you find it, can I borrow it, please?

Was that book required reading in the 70's and 80's in Florida schools? I guess the 60's too, if you look over Amazon's reviews.

Want to split the cost of the $60 one, if you can't find it on your own?

If I find it, sure, you can borrow. :) And it must have been required reading in FL at least... I seem to remember that it was read to us the same year as we did FL history.

Will consider the $60 copy. But I'm convinced we can find it for less. ;)

ABE!
