I have been twitching about what they will cut for quite some time, since the book is simply too filled with stuff to fit into under 3 hours. But I never imagined that they would cut the Quidditch completely. And I really can't imagine them leaving it in without even a short scene with Oliver.

There's too much Quidditch in PoA for them to take it out: it's central! The Dementors, the Patronus, Cho, Cedric, losing the Nimbus, the fight over the Firebolt.... And if you've got Quidditch, you've got to have Oliver!

Agh! The funniest comment I saw on this was a TLC poster's fear that Kloves would have Hermione captaining the Quidditch team as Oliver's replacement!

But no Oliver, no Cho... are we not going to see Cedric either? And what about Parvati? If they ever get around to making (a travesty of) GoF, half the audience are going to be like Huh? Who are these people?

The fandom ain't happy on this one... but does WB care?

I'm hoping this just means they want to keep the Quidditch scenes short. not cut them. They'd really ruin the movie (and a lot of comedy potential) if they cut it completely. Hopefully they don't cut the line about Wood drowning himself in the shower. Harry has to get his Firebolt somehow, afterall. That's crucial if they want to make the movie for GoF.
