In other words, there's a web page that combines the two things that have most influenced my week - LOTR and baby naming.

While the page's creator sees potential in naming kids Cate, Elijah, and even Peregrin or Viggo (which still just reminds me of the evil demon thing in Gostbusters 2 (sorry!)), she doesn't see much of a future in Sauron, Smeagol or Treebeard. Wonder why?

But Smeagol is so cute! When he's good, I mean.

Oh, I don't know. I think Sauron Tandy has a nice sound to it.

Gosh, pity I stuck to the Social Security listing of top 1000 names for the year 2000 -- I missed out on the concept of naming my kid Galadriel. On the other hand, I got to peruse other charmers such as "Unique" and "London" and "Nyah". *g*

Course, you could just bypass all this, and make a bouncy Brit even bouncier by naming the baby "John" :D

You may want to lookat the Quenya Lapseparma, as well as the article Now We Have All Got Elvish Names - these sources contain genuine translations of everyday names into proper Quenya forms - Harry, which originated as a pet-form of the name Henry, becomes either Pandatur or Corintur, depending on preference.

I feel very LotR-obsessed right now. I am familiar with both of those sites.
