Nov. 20th, 2002 05:15 pmWant to see what's inside my uterus? Today's ultrasound went great - baby has a clearly defined head and heartbeat, and best of all, I've only gained two pounds, which is about ten less than where I was the last time I was pregnant, by this point in my pregnancy. The nausea has mostly subsided and I am again allowed to have one or two diet cokes each day, which is a bit of a relief. I can keep up with the raquetball too, at least until my balance goes kaflooey, which is at least 2-3 months away.
I have felt Baby move a few times in the past couple of days - these whoopy little flips that feel like I'm doing a summersault, even though I'm just standing still. I love it! Due date still looks like late May - that prediction won't change, if at all, before January.
And in other news, we at The Leaky Cauldron want to win the auction for that card that JKR wrote the 93 words from/about Book 5 on. Details coming soon on how you can participate.

Very happy to hear you're feeling better also... I sympathize much with morning sickness.

Date: 2002-11-20 03:28 pm (UTC)Ooo, a baby! *sighs* I love babies. I'm always talking to the little ones that come into Olive Garden. I'm sure all the mothers must think I'm nuts.

Date: 2002-11-20 03:45 pm (UTC)BTW - I love the idea of raising money for the charity auction. The only question I would have is if the knowledge of the words on it would be legally limited to the owners... would give people an incentive to buy, wouldn't it?
So happy about the baby news!

Date: 2002-11-21 06:49 am (UTC)I spent a good chunk of yesterday twisted in knots over the legal issues inherent in this auction thing, and I'm *thrilled* I know the answer to *something*. Thanks, Elia! *waves*
The only way the purchaser of the card would be restricted from sharing it is if that restriction is specified in the contract governing the purchase. While it's not impossible that Rowling would make that a condition of purchase, it's pretty unlikely. Generally, you can do whatever you want with your stuff. Including notecards from very famous authors.
Thank God my brain still works. *sighs in relief*

Date: 2002-11-21 08:22 am (UTC)Thanks for answering my question. I really hope that we can get a copy of the contract governing the purchase, or at least assurances that such a condition is not in there. It would be a pity to get all that money collected, the card purchased, and to not be able to share the info. Although, I guess, technically speaking that everyone who had contributed to the purchase *could* be listed as an owner.
But, yeah, I guess it would be pretty unlikely that she'd put limitations on it... unless maybe another contract compelled her to do so.
I'm probably overthinking this.
I almost became a lawyer, and sometimes I think I would have been better off - at least I could get paid for thinking about things like this. :)
Cheers,
Elia

So cool that you can feel the baby this early! I didn't feel Mega until at least 20 weeks or so!

It's very exciting to see the ultrasound. :)

Incidentally, I'm planning on sending money to the Leaky-Cauldron-patrons-are-jonesing-for-spoilers fund as soon as you set up the details.
