I am really happy about two election results yesterday

Jon Bing, one of my oldest friends in Real Life, won his bid for the New York Assembly by a few hundred votes, but that's all he needed.

And of course, another college classmate of mine, Harold Ford, won another term in Congress, setting him up well to run for the senate in a few years, now that he's finally old enough.

Everything else sucked. Well, not Lautenberg. And out of all the Republicans who won, I'm less miffy about Pataki than anyone else.

Anyone want to convince John McCain to jump parties?

I'd love to convince McCain. Hey, he went on a Late Show laste year and talked politics with Crosby, Stills, and Nash after their blatantly nonRepublican performance... there might be a chance in hell.
