I'm joining [livejournal.com profile] flourish in the Lost A Tree This Week! club.

One of the really old palms on the side of our house seems to have been hit by lightening. Luckily, it hit no cars and no houses - but it's lying in the middle of the street. If it's intact tomorrow, I will photograph it for all of you to see.

And in other news, as I implied here...WHY? WHY? WHY?

The amazing thing about it is, it says it's for ages 8-16. Hey, 16-and-not-far-from-it-year olds reading this... What do you think?

I think I'm going to buy Neil one.

But, as for myself, I'm wibbling over here. *wibbles and clings*

I'm 15, and I want one, because I'm obsessive about dolls. I have an Anne of Green Gables; when I was 6 years old I saved up $100 for my first American Girl.

Actually, I don't have a big collection, but I've always liked them a lot. Especially American Girl type dolls, like that Hermione. The little accessories are what gets me. I want a Hogwarts bed set for my American Girl of Today now. Hmph.

And no, it doesn't look a THING like me, even though it has my eye/hair color. Hmph. I REALLY want one of those dolls where they do all your freckles and ear piercings and face shape and stuff. But I'd never spring for one. One of those Hermiones, on the other hand... I can do $12.99. ;)

My Target has them for $9.99 and I've come very close to buying one on several occasions. And I'm just a *clears throat* few years older than 16. They are really cute dolls.

URGH! Me and my friend Sasha (both 15) agree that it's about 5-10, definitely not 8-16.

I am seventeen, and right now am feeling slightly horrified.

But then again, I don't own any dolls (except for one ratty one that I slept with for years) and never played with them. So, maybe I'm not the best judge.

I'd never get a Hermione doll, just because I think it's creepy, but I have to wonder on what planet it would be fitting for Hermione to come with a Strawberry scented bracelet. This is Hermione we're talking about. Eeesh.

As a 17-year-old, I am horrified and appalled. As a Harry Potter fan, I am horrified and appalled.

Ick.

Allison, who was never big on dolls (but who did have an impressive collection of McDonald's toys

As 16 and a half ....

I say NO WAY! First of all, I stopped playing with Barbies when I was ... hmm ... 12? It doesn't look like her, anyway. And besides, it's just wrong. I don't believe in book characters being made into Barbie products.

*wrinkles nose* Ever since I was a little kid, I was a cars and Lego person, not a doll house person.

It's just .... not right, that.

Is it just me, or does she have a double chin? Maybe she's been eating too many strawberry bracelets. I'm thirteen and I haven't bought dolls since...well, ever. I never liked them.

What's with the 'bracelet storage box?' I've never heard of such a thing. It looks like it's made out of cardboard...couldn't you just put the bracelet in the box the doll came in? Aren't they wasting trees?

The doll has better highlights than I do.

Sorry about your palm.... at least it didn't damage anything that would cause all sorts of insurance nightmares for you. Eeeep.

About the doll... I don't think I'd buy it. I'd be afraid that it would wake up in the middle of the night and I'd find it looking for a weapon... too creepy.

That's not something a 16 year old person would buy (says a 15 year old...).

I highly doubt my sisters would buy it either (Read: 12, 10, and 8), for it looks very odd...

I'm sixteen and I would never ever even think of buying that doll. It's not that it's childish, but it just looks so horrible and not at all like Hermione.

*vomits*

That is disgusting. Absolutely revolting. What the hell have they done to her? Why the hell would *Hermione* have a strawberry scented bracelet?!!! *refrains from using various swear words, which involve doing something with a broomstick and the WB's butts*
