Heidi Tandy spends her afternoons as a part-time associate at the Gunster Yoakley law firm in Fort Lauderdale and Miami. In the mornings, away from the office, Tandy stays in touch with a BlackBerry, a device that lets her check her office e-mail and get messages from her secretary whether she is at home, at the park or visiting a friend.
