heidi | Not having the best month....

Heading off to a funeral right now - the husband of the couple who are our closest friends locally lost his father after a two-month illness on Friday, so I'm heading to south miami for the funeral now. That's basically why I was mostly offline all weekend, to spend time with family and friends - and to make latkes, which came out terrifically yesterday.

And Aaron and his family are out of sorts because of a combination of living life without Grampa Herb and the fact that it would have been Aaron's Grandma Bea's birthday later this month. Their absences were so noticeable when we were shopping for gifts this year.

But cousins are coming to Orlando next week and we are going up to see them (our kids don't know yet!) and I think it'll be a good break for everyone.

I put my name into the Secret Santa Love Meme, and will spiral through it this afternoon to leave love for any of you who're in there. But I am about a day behind on LJ so if you have a thread, please feel free to zap me the url.
