SHOW! OMG! Plot and mysteries and characters from seasons past and Castiel heading off with Dean's necklace and WTF didn't Sam put up more of a fight and did Bobby know what it was when he gave it to Sam to give to John all those years ago and how did Booby get it in the first place and SMART boys (and smart Ellen!) figuring it out about the hallucinations and what happened to War when they took his ring and finger (where did the finger go? Anyone going to send War a cake like the one on Glee last night?) and wow, I would not want War to have any personal animosity towards me.
SO yeah, plot and violence and nobody we adored or liked from seasons past ended up dead which is good, but all of that pales to the final scene which is just making me weep and be all
BOYS! NO! DO NOT SEPARATE EVER!. Remember the last time you split up and how that led to the final seal being broken? Get back together asap because it is where you need to be. I mean, they said "war" at the same time the instant they were back together at the house when Sam was all tied up and sad without Dean - they are still on the same wavelength, 100%. They will find each other, they have to.
I am utterly unspoiled except for the preview for the next episode so don't tell me if you know whether they'll be apart for just the one epi (or a portion thereof) or longer because I don't think I can bear if it's longer at the moment, but I will force myself to handle it on a week-to-week basis.
Also, gah, this is going to be such a pretty episode to vid with. Except I wish the credits weren't all over the boys walking in the beginning.
OH, ETA!: What do we think? Has Dean actually read LOTR, or just seen it? They all came out while Sam was at school, right? But they did talk some during his first 2 years so maybe they did see the first two together, and when they weren't talking anymore, maybe Dean showed up at some movie theater in Palo Alto at midnight back in 2003, knowing Sam would be there to see RotK and Sam was towards the front and Dean was sorta hiding from him a few rows back and watched Sam as much as he watched the film.
But if they want to throw the ring into a volcano, maybe Jensen's wish for an episode filmed in Hawaii will come true.

Date: 2009-09-18 02:41 am (UTC)(Did you know that the first SPN fic I ever read, even before I'd seen a single episode of Show, was a Jack Harkness/Dean Winchester thing where Dean gets called an intergalactic space hooker?)

Date: 2009-09-18 05:41 pm (UTC)And it was on Sam's laptop, so Dean's watched it a couple of times he wasn't able to got to sleep.
This ep hurts so much, but in a good way. Somehow. Oh boys! *smishes them*
I love the actor who played War, he was on Life and was so awesome/evil there too. As soon as I saw him, I thought, hmmm. And I was correct in my hmmmming.
They will always find each other, always. They are both so battered and hurt and for the first time, they can't mend each other. They need to rebuild themselves as individual units before they can come together, stronger than ever. They've always found each other in the past, and nothing's going to change that now.
