At 11:10 AM on February 11, 2002, I posted on LJ for the first time. I'd used LJ for the [livejournal.com profile] fictionalley account a few times in the six months before that date, and had been reading a few friends' LJs (including [livejournal.com profile] flourish, who gave me my code, but it was on this day that I finally started using LJ for myself.

I wish I had done this in years past, but I haven't so this is a summary of my LJ stats as of this minute:
40,534 comments received, 28,824 comments posted
3,831 Journal Entries, 602 Tags, 148 Memories, 400+ ScrapBook Files, 20 Virtual Gifts, 163 Userpics

I've had a permanent account since 2004 or 2005 - I can't even remember anymore! - I have 148 interests, am watching 1263 friends, communities, and feeds, and have been friended by over 1000 people, but some of them haven't posted on LJ in three, four or five years, and I don't know if they are still reading anymore at all. If they are, HI, oldbies!

[Poll #1347585]

Explanation for the computer questions above - looks like I am getting a new desktop for valentine's day/my birthday (belated) as Eldest Son has need of my 2+ year old 2GB-of-RAM machine, so I am considering just how much power I want to play with, as I have a 25% off coupon for Dell. Gah, the things I think about when I'm able to sit at my desktop for the first time in 10+ days - but I do feel so much better, in terms of surgery-recovery, every day. Other than the fact that I can't pick up anything over 10 pounds for a few more weeks, I should be close to 100% by the weekend, I hope.

Ooh, I only made my LJ about a month after you! For some reason I thought you'd been around on LJ for ages before me. I had to go and check Joule for when I friended you, but it seems to have been between December of 2002 and January of 2003... You've written so many more LJ entries than I have, haha. Happy LJ-versary!

Also, I chose Grease, but Princess Bride and Clueless would probably be up there as well. :D

When I was contracting for RRD they supplied me a Dell laptop. I loved it immensely and would consider that as one of my top choices if I decided to replace my current laptop.

I refuse to vote on that last question because there are no tickyboxes. Bill and Ted, Princess Bride, Doctor Horrible, and Star Wars would all make my list.

Need a 4 1/2 option on the years. I friended you when we were both pregnant. You with Cate, and I with Troy. Can you believe they're going to be 4? Doesn't seem right.

Of the comfort films on your list, I'd include Much Ado, Star Wars (although I'd be more likely to go for Jedi) and Princess Bride. It would likely depend on my personal mood and if Will is watching, too.

I made my LJ in June of 2002. I don't remember when I added you, exactly, but I know I've had you on for ages.

And I had a hard time picking from the listed movies- about 3 would be on mine!

Well I started my LJ in 2003 and I know I was lurking before then. So early 2003? I'm not sure.

Happy LJversary!

I've had an LJ for 6 years but I was thinking the other day that I was actually reading and poking around on LJ for about 7 years, I had a small favourites folder with a bunch of LJs in it that I read until I got up the nerve to fiend people and your was one of them *g*

Clueless is one of my absolute favourite movies in oh so many ways <3

Didn't do the poll - not a vidder - but can tell you the 512 MB of RAM on this notebook is driving me round the twist.

Good to hear the recovery is going well! And as someone who has been there on the 10 lb limit, I can say, while one adapts and gets terribly sneaky, it's good to be off limits again.

oh my GOD i cannot believe I've had my LJ for almost six years.

also, I picked "The Princess Bride" because it's my favorite movie ever, but "Clueless" would be on my list too because it's in my top-5 faves.

Ha, the machine I'm currently on apparently has (it looks like)3GB of RAM. My laptop at home has 1GB. The new desktop at home has 2GB, I think...

And hee, I made my LJ before you! I had to go check, but Jan 13 2002.

It's weird - I go through periods where I post 2 or 3 times a day, and then I go five or six days with nothing, like I have been this week. Thanks for the -versary wishes!

I've had Dell desktops for my last few machines, and I had a wonderful 25% off coupon to use this go-round, so I went for some extra-super powered stuff.

That's pretty much how I was using LJ in late 2001 and early 2002. And the weird thing is, I can't actually remember why I changed from using the fictionalley one to having one of my own. So I will blame [livejournal.com profile] flourish!

Thanks for the cheery words re recovery, too!

Hrmm. I don't think so, but then I don't really do very much.. just internet... watching things on YouTube... word processing. Perhaps the 3GB is marginally faster in getting things done but I really haven't tested it out.

Happy belated LJ-versary! Did you buy a cupcake or something else decadent to celebrate with?

Before I could truthfully answer the first poll question I had to go check my friend messages and found that you friended me 44 weeks ago, so I've been reading your journal for almost a year now. My time passes quickly.

I enjoy watching fanvids, but no idea how to make them so I couldn't answer that question.

Of all the movies you listed, I've yet to see "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog" and "Girls Just Want to Have Fun". I've got DHSAB on my wishlist so if I don't get it for my birthday this year, I'll probably buy it in April along with a couple of Torchwood books I've been eyeing.
