There was a meme earlier in the week when I was sick that cheered me up a bit. Basically, people were posting photos of Jared Padalecki, and I realised that I never posted a reasonably good version of the Group Photo that I did with [livejournal.com profile] lostt1 and [livejournal.com profile] roguebitch, and a bunch of SPN cast members.
It was terrific fun, and if Kenny offers it again, I am definitely doing it again!

Why we didn't save Jared's sign for posterity is beyond me! But gah, if they do offer it again, how can we possibly top this for sheer fun?

Yuletide fic is now well past 1000 words, and I now have to write a shagging scene. Although, of course, I have never written a shagging scene in my life. I am convinced that it will be cliche-riddled, and my only hope is to make it more or less R-rated, which is still making me very wibbly and meep-ish.

I need to learn that I always get matched up with the request that's on the furthest edge of my capabilities. I went through four or five failed attempts before I gave up and write something that fits one of the requests but not as nicely as my first (spectacularly failed!) version would have done, had I the skills to complete it!

Oooo - finally - a piccie of you. :D

*points at answer*

My story is different, shreds a whole swag of fandom cliches and will either work for my recipient - or fail. There is no middle ground - and it's right outside my comfort zone too. *sigh*

Writing smut is the hardest thing to do. The mechanics fine - the emotions (and really that's what makes the scene) is much harder. Good luck - you'll be fine! :)

I matched up with only one thing on the person's list, and even more terrifyingly, I'd never actually heard of two of her selected fandoms, and one of the remaining two was something I was utterly incapable of imagining, much less writing. So I stuck with what we'd obviously been matched for, and it was a challenge to get a bunny. Luckily, once I did it was relatively smooth sailing, but it was hard going to get there!

I only had one match and it was a reach but at least it was wide-open. I tried to write for another fandom on which we didn't match but which sounded intriguing. Big mistake! It just didn't sound at all interesting as I wrote it. So I fell back on the original match and cobbled together something that fit the request and, I hope!, worked!
