My camera and sidekick were taken at Disney on Saturday afternoon from the Ladies' Room at Splash Mountain in the Magic Kingdom.
I am wondering what could happen if I asked all of you to post the following in your LJ:
heidi8's pink Kodak camera and blue Sidekick LX were taken at Disney's Splash Mountain at around 4:30 PM on Sautrday, June 7, and she's trying to get the SD cards that were in the camera and Sidekick back; they're the only copies she has of those photos. She's asking people to pass on this message via their LJ, blog, facebook, etc., in hopes of catching the eye of the person who took it - or someone who knows who did. If that person sees this post, they can go to her livejournal post at http://heidi8.livejournal.com/913939.html and post anonymously (it'll be screened) so she can coordinate with them about getting the cards - and, ideally, the rest of the contents of the bag - returned.
I'd really appreciate it if people did - I'm curious as to whether it could help me get my stuff back.
Separate and apart from RL stuff-loss, I wanted to squee about a few things coming up this summer:
1.
FictionAlley's SpellCast Podcast is looking for scripts for Podcast Plays; we're planning to perform/record one at Portus 2008 next month and at Terminus in August, and record others via online collaborations.
The fanfiction the play is based on can be new or old, AU or canon-compliant, crossover or HP-only - as long as the play-adaptation is rated PG-13 or lower. If you're adapting someone else's fic, please get their consent first and include the original author's name and email address with your submission.
How to Enter:
If your fic is in prose form, you should send us the entire fic and a script adaptation of the first page or so, to show that your fic is suitable for radio performance and that you understand the process of adaptation. If it is already in script form, please send us the entire
script.
Along with your entry, you should include the following information:
Name:
Email:
Title of fic:
Brief summary:
# of male characters with speaking roles:
# of female characters with speaking roles:
Please include a list of all speaking roles for the entire play (with brief descriptions if necessary). Put any stage directions or sound effects in brackets.
We recommend reading this advice on script-writing before you adapt the fic into script form.
When you're ready, email your complete entry to spellcast@fictionalley.org, no later than June 20, 2008 for consideration for Portus or Terminus, or by August 15 for inclusion in the Fall 2008 SpellCast season. If sending an incomplete script, the final adaptation will have to be complete by June 30 if it's chosen for either of the cons, so please be attuned to that deadline.
Keep your eye on this LJ for more information about audition and recording times at both of the cons, and to learn how to audition to become a SpellCast Reader at the cons, and online.
2. For five years, HPEF has helped to promote the spread of literacy by producing magical events for fans and scholars. Now it is your turn to help share your love of reading and the Harry Potter novels, just by purchasing your summer reading list at any Barnes & Noble Booksellers the weekend of June 20-22, 2008. ( Find out more here! )
3. Target has this laptop pouch on sale for under eight dollars. That's about 75% off - and the pouch is adorable!
4. Yes, Mr Jobs, your white iPhone is shiny, and if you promise me that the ability to cut & paste will show up sometime later in 2008, I will buy your pretty, pretty white iPhone. Is anyone interested in going over to the Dallas Apple store sometime on July 11 or 12 during Portus? ETA: I made a thread on this issue here.
5. And speaking of get-togethers in Dallas,
wendy - how does dinner on Saturday sound?
6. There is no six. (Yes, it is still 1995. Somewhere.)
7. I really, really want to get to London in December to see the West End production of the Tennant + Stewart Hamlet - what do you Londoners recommend? Should we try to come over Christmas itself (which we don't celebrate) or should we come earlier in the month?
ETA #8:Wes just showed me #6 in this article. So I had to make a poll. I hope it works!
[Poll #1202920]
ETA #9: I forgot to squee that Jason Manns is coming to EyeCon! So thrilled that I'll finally get to see him live!
