heidi | Portus Announcements - all vaguely artsy

Due to some problems with the Portus website, it's been a challenge to submit art to the Gallery these last few weeks, but we're thrilled to announce that the deadline has been extended until June 15th, 2008. We sincerely apologize to anyone who has been inconvenienced by the web site troubles, and greatly hope to see some more awesome artwork that you creative people are inspired to make.

We have an easy online submission form that can be accessed on the Portus website here and if you have issues with the form, please email the art gallery team at artgallery@portus2008.org .

For those of you who are very artistic - or who just drabble, or even those who - like me - get wibbly contemplating your drawing skills, I'm thrilled to announce that Smashing Times is going to be at Portus on Friday afternoon. You can stop by the Common Room and create a mosaic snake, toad, house crest or even a crystal-esque ball - all customized and hand-made by you. The cost is going to be $30 if you purchase in advance, and $40 after July 1; you can do more than one, but we don't recommend doing more than three. Smashing Times is a Dallas mosaic and DIY studio; all of their tiles, china, and glass are tumbled so that sharp edges are removed. Come on by, and create something like
